Ricki Lake Makes Top Poker Final

Former queen of the talk
shows makes a name for herself in another field.
Ricki Lake, queen
of the talk shows in the 1990s and actress in several hit films in the same era
has reappeared in public life in a slightly unexpected new role - as a star on
the
poker tables.
Lake, who first found
fame in the role of Tracy Turnblad in the original version of Hairspray in
1988, has made it to the finals of a major poker tournament in California.
She is one of 72
contenders to make the final of the Cal State Poker Championship, which is
being held at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles and ends on May 23.
First prize is a cool
$125,000.
Lake is no stranger
to the poker circuit, having appeared many times at the World Poker Tour's
celebrity invitational.
